This painting was done from a photograph I took at Mac Smith's Diner on the Lebanon Road outside of Pendleton, SC. I did a smaller version of it-- 10" x 10" --that I called "Lunch Break." That small painting was sold, but I had already decided to do a larger one. I like the colors and the figures and the activity in this scene.

This painting was done from a photograph I took in Portugal in 2018, while I was there with friends on a walking tour of the Douro River Valley, which is a wine producing area. The photo was actually taken through the window of a bus on a winding mountain road! Thank goodness for the distraction of the beautiful scenery!

I did this painting from a photo I took of a still life setup of my aunt YaYa's pitchers and a pot de creme given to me by a friend. I liked the challenge of painting white objects, and giving them form with subtle colors.

It was done from a still life setup I photographed in the summer of 2022. It features my lucky Yellow Bird and a pot de creme given to me by a friend. I like the play of light and shadow and enjoyed the challenge of rendering a white object using subtle grays.

I did this painting from a photograph I took at Edisto Beach's Botany Bay plantation in South Carolina. The huge driftwood tree trunks and strong sunlight created very interesting shadows on the sand, and I enjoyed painting this. I plan to paint a larger version of this and other photos I took that day.

I did this painting from a photograph of a gate in our neighborhood. I love the autumn colors and the blueish hill in the distant background. The shadows falling diagonally across the bottom help create a pleasing composition.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, the comic book--sample pages
In 2019, I did the entire novel, Pride and Prejudice, as a black and white comic book. There are 400 pages.
I'll publish some scenes--two or three pages at a time--here for those of you who love the novel and think you'd be entertained seeing it in comic book form.
